    History

PhoneNews.com, established in 2003, is one of the nation’s leading providers of wireless news and consumer advocacy. Founded by Christopher Price, the site has a broad staff of contributors, writers, and support staff all with one goal: better informing the wireless customer.

The site is the result of the merger of two existing web sites: Sprint PCS Info and PCS Intel. All the prior coverage from these sites is now available on PhoneNews.com.

While comprehensive news coverage is the cornerstone of PhoneNews.com, the site has grown over the years to better server consumers. The first addition being the PhoneNews.com Forums, which contain thousands of threads of discussion on just about every topic in the mobile world. To date, the Forums have over 8,000 registered members.

In addition, PhoneNews.com has established a Phone Encyclopedia. The Encyclopedia is a wiki-driven branch of PhoneNews.com, providing detailed information about every phone that works in America today. Being based on wiki technology, the site allows anyone to freely register and contribute anything relevant to a phone… from downloads, tips, tricks, links, and even hacks for a device.

PhoneNews.com also features a behind-the-scenes blog, monthly newsletter for registered members, and weekly giveaways.

Going mobile, PhoneNews.com offers all of its over 3,000 news articles in mobile format, and will soon launch mobile-formatted versions of its forums and increasing the number of resources available on the Phone Enyclopedia.
