And Just When You Thought it Couldn’t Get Worse!

Guess what happened today? The folks at InMotion Hosting called. Apparently they no longer want us using their bait-and-switch low-cost hosting, and made us change servers.

And, on this fourth server move in less than a month (yes, all on the same host)… guess what we had to do? Open more support tickets! Our PHP settings aren’t being respected. This was after being told that if we wanted SSL email that worked with foreign technologies, like Mac OS X Mail… that we’d have to pony up for our own SSL certificate.

If this were a normal month, we would have bolted by now. But, I don’t have the time, patience, fuel, effort… whatever… making another hosting move right now just isn’t an option. So, instead of making good on deadlines (from reviews, to the Phone Encyclopedia Beta), we’re having to fix server problems… again.

Oh, and the good folks that code our Joomla-IPB bridge are now unable to fix the issue… because the server backends don’t work… because our host has foobared them for the fifth time in a row. In other words, if you think we’re being lazy by being a bit sluggish in the news, I sincerely apologize. But as you see above, there’s nothing more I can do that open up duplicate support tickets to resolve things.

Update: And, at 1 AM the day following this post, our primary PC workhorse just died. PSU failure. But, fear not… we’re not going to let server outages, and PC failures stop us from reporting. We’ll be back up to speed within the next day.
