Apple is Afraid of iPhone Reviews

We just got word from Apple, nobody is getting review units for the iPhone until after the 29th. Of course, in Apple PR-speak, that means if your name is not Mossberg, Pogue, or Macworld. But, it goes to show how afraid Apple is of negative coverage of iPhone… they don’t expect to ship review units out until weeks after iPhone ships.

Of course, when everyone is giving positive ratings for iPhone, why would they want to risk negative reviews? iPhone will sell out on the 29th either way, and what happens after that will happen either way, Apple might as well ride the free-press train for as long as possible.

But fear not readers, we have a team standing by to ensure that come 6 PM, we’ll be writing an iPhone review.
