History Note: If you haven’t been following Apple for the past 15 years… Apple CEO John Sculley was responsible for the creation of the Apple Newton MessagePad. Steve Jobs unceremoniously killed the Newton. Jobs has been on a campaign to position the cell phone as the future of portable computing, and thus, iPhone was born.

On an even more historical note, two of the lead developers of the Newton and its OS created Pixo and PortalPlayer, which became the core of Apple’s iPod.
