Another DDoS Update
I know we’ve received a lot of emails and notes from folks about the access issues you’ve encountered over the past few days. Today, we completed a server move that should resolve this. We’ve re-located the server behind new, advanced hardware firewalls that should suppliment our ongoing efforts to block these attacks.
We have already blocked [...]
Page Notes
Over the weekend, we’ve set up a few pages on our footer to help better grasp all that PhoneNews.com has to offer. We’ve added pages that describe About Us, Advertising on PhoneNews.com, and also a new Media & Press Room.
These pages should make it easier to better get in touch with PhoneNews.com.
Speaking of notes, this [...]
You Were Saying?
It seems yesterday’s post about server load was a harbinger of things to come. PhoneNews.com is being hit by a DDoS attack. I cannot give specifics right now, because we don’t want to aid in the efforts, but we have already blocked 4000+ bots which are hammering the site… and that’s since 9 AM.
Because of [...]
Tackling the Spam
I wish I had more updates to post right now. Unfortunately, our servers are being taxed by spammers… this is a painful form of a DDoS attack, despite the goal not being to deny access to the site.
See, spam bots today have gotten crazy in terms of utilization. Thanks to viruses, spammers can upload these [...]
Not the First Time…

The WMWifiRouter incident (and I call it that loosely), is really much ado about nothing. The [...]
Out Sick, Third Year in a Row!
If it sounds like things are moving slow, if I haven’t gotten back to your email, or if there was something you wanted done… sorry, but I’ve gotten a cold and it has gotten worse, rather than better over the past week.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. This is the third year in a [...]
The Industry May be Getting it on Updates
Over the past two weeks… something has hit me. We have so many software update stories to cover, we’re actually having to break them up to keep it from getting crowded on the feed. Normally, we don’t do that, but there are simply so many… but wait, that’s a good thing!
The industry is starting to [...]
IE6 Users, We Hear You (Updated)
Yes, the main page has a problem with IE6 on small resolution screens (1024×768 and below). We’ve traced the issue to a sidebar conflict, and we hope to have it fixed soon.
We know many of you can’t upgrade to IE7 because you’re in a corporate environment, but if you can, please update for your own [...]
