Interface Shakeups

A lot is going on right now, especially with the look-and-feel of PhoneNews.com.

First, our Phone Encyclopedia integration (that list of phones on the front page)… stalled. We’re going to reboot it this weekend.

Both the Forums and Phone Encyclopedia re-designs will be in some stage of development this weekend as well.

The news is getting its first round of post-deployment renovations as well. We’re going to be tinkering around with the placement of things, and adding a few new elements to better promote things like our RSS feed. Doing this will better promote featured content like reviews… which will actually motivate us to do some of those.

Finally, the forums are getting wireless posting. The code is much more difficult to deploy than we had anticipated, but it is slowly progressing. Part of the problem has been choosing a method to make PhoneNews.com accessible from a phone. We’re aiming for one, singular portal to access all of PhoneNews.com’s services wirelessly. However, that will probably deploy after the forums go wireless.

That’s all for now, we’re busy on all fronts.
