Launch Details

Yes, the new name for our site will be PhoneNews.com. We did let this leak out for about an hour a few weeks back, but we pulled the release because we didn’t want the prying eyes of our competitors attempting to pull any Googlerific tricks. We’ll be launching in a little over 48 hours, so that’s not really a concern.

This is a big change for us, as PhoneNews.com will attract a much larger audience while integrating much of the services we offer currently. Here’s the breakdown URL-wise:

• PCSIntel.com will become PhoneNews.com
• kb.PCSIntel.com will become PhoneNews.com/phones
• SprintPCSInfo.com will become PhoneNews.com/blog

Again, the good news is, old links will simply redirect forward. So, PCSIntel.com/forums will take you to PhoneNews.com/forums automatically. But, this does put everything on one single domain name, and we will be integrating these services.

In the coming days, some features will be moved around. Changing the URL of the Knowledge Base to PhoneNews.com/phones is not something we’re doing to stay catchy with the name. We’re going to dramatically realign every single page on the site to dynamically access every phone in America.

In addition to dynamic searching, we’ll be adding specifications. Of course, as with collecting details on every phone in America, adding this will be done over time, likely with the latest phones being spec’ed-out first, and older phones being spec’ed later.

Did we mention you’ll be able to search, and edit all this info yourself? That’s right, we’re not just making a phone list with specifications everyone else has… we’re going to be adding even more details, tips, tricks, and even hacks on every phone in America. And, we’ll need your help to do it (that’s a good thing, since we have the only database of phones any reader can contribute to in real-time).

PhoneNews.com will be launching in the wee hours of Friday morning. So, stay tuned, we know if you’re reading this that you’re one of our most loyal readers… we won’t let you down.
