Major Joomla Announcement
I’m happy to report that Joomla 1.5 has added legacy backlinks! This was the most critical issue in Joomla’s development, and it’s a great way to start the end of my vacation. I’d like to thanks all those on the Joomla team, especially the people that implemented the code necessary to make this happen.
Needless to say, I’m not taking a big bow here. All I did was point out the major issue, take the flack for pointing it out, and let the Joomla community hash it out from there. We’ll begin serious testing of Joomla 1.5 shortly, and then make up our minds if we’ll stick with it, or migrate to WordPress. We’ve invested a lot in Joomla, and it’s nice to seem them finally catching up to the competition.
Joomla 1.5 will dramatically change most of the content management code, and hopefully that will address some of the more common issues that we, and everyone else, are having with the platform. That includes resource utilization and Search Engine Optimization, two areas that Joomla has lagged behind other content management software.
Regardless of if it’s Joomla or WordPress, or something that hasn’t even come along yet, we’re committed to making it the best platform for delivering wireless news to you.
