Sprint Podcast - We Won’t Miss You
There’s no doubting at this point that Sprint’s own podcast was a terrible community outreach tool. Not only did it not give you a very flat line of old information, but it also was horribly managed. For example, the iTunes subscription didn’t even work six months into the endeavor, only showing the older podcasts.
What could they have done? Had people on their podcast for starters. The only two people they had from the user community were from rather unknown web sites… one that doubled as a Sprint reseller… no conflict of interest there. Sure, a few VPs came by… but the names ordinary people know at Sprint wouldn’t come close to the podcast’s microphone.
With Sprint’s latest server redesign, it’s clear, the podcast was just a cheap marketing ploy. I have to admit, that while I downloaded them… I couldn’t stand to listen to an entire one of them. And now, thankfully, they’re gone… off Sprint’s web site, and my hard drive.
