Straight MOTOTALK Express

There’s a lot of chatter about Motorola working on some super phone, and if that single device doesn’t sell well, then Motorola is going to sell their whole mobile phone division.

Uh, no. This is one giant Internet rumor that other sites have wrong, and continues to grow out of control.

What likely happened was this story got mixed up with today’s Symbian Foundation announcement. What is much more plausible is that Motorola is working on a new souped-up Symbian phone, and that if Motorola can’t gain market share under the new, unified Symbian platform, that they’ll shelve the platform and go back to MOTOMAGX (Linux) phone development.

Of course, you won’t hear rumormongers in the mobile media say that.
