The Industry May be Getting it on Updates

Over the past two weeks… something has hit me. We have so many software update stories to cover, we’re actually having to break them up to keep it from getting crowded on the feed. Normally, we don’t do that, but there are simply so many… but wait, that’s a good thing!

The industry is starting to collectively keep devices healthy, by issuing a steady stream of software and firmware updates, rather than clog things up by making you throw away an otherwise perfectly good device. Of course, things like generational updates (ahem, Windows Mobile) are still major sores in the industry… but this just makes them stand out even more.

We’ll keep up the coverage on the updates, so just stay tuned throughout this week. Who knows, hopefully by the time we’re caught up, we’ll be backlogged with even more updates. This is one time where having a backlog of something is not a royal pain.
