WAP Access: A New Hope

We’ve just been given new WAP code for Joomla to put into the site. In case you didn’t notice, we already have xHTML-mobile support for PDAs (and modern phones)… but some phones (like, all of Verizon’s) are still stuck in the WAP 2.0 stone ages.

We’re going to reach out to them with a new WAP 2.0 portal that makes viewing the site just as easy as ever.

And, on a related note, iPhone users will likely see the mobile version of the site go away. Don’t worry, we’re going to offer it as an option, but the new Knowledge Base will be so well integrated… you’ll want the full version of the site if your browser can handle it. Right now, only iPhone’s (and Opera Mobile) can…

We’re also working on tying in the PDA-forum access… but that will probably be delayed indefinitely (until, we have a moment to, you know, breathe).
