Waving Goodbye to NetBurst
It’s summer time, and that means it’s time to upgrade all the PhoneNews.com workhorses that handle all the writing-o-content. We’re finally purging the place of Intel NetBurst systems… we’ll be going from three down to one (and that’s a Windows Home Server… so it’s already overkill for that task).
What’s replacing our systems? We’re going with a P35-sporting Dell Inspiron 530n. For the second system we’ll be going the custom route with a P965. Both systems will feature Intel Core 2 Duo E4300’s with VSS to BSEL1 properly placed (in other words, tricking your low-end Core 2 Duo into being a very high-end Core 2 Duo).
So, if you see a bit of a lull in news over the next 48 hours, it’s because systems will be in the middle of overclocking, AutoPatching, and telling Vista that we’ll activate later.
