Yet Another Unavoidable Giveaway Delay (Updated)

Yes, another giveaway delay. The folks that write our comment software for that software we are moving away from… have finally taken the hint.

They’ve finally listened to the fact that our trackback woes are indeed still happening, and have isolated it down to a bug… even though we disabled the trackback system entirely… the core code continued to keep turning. Spammers that sniffed our URL path simply kept hammering the trackback system, and thus, PhoneNews.com ground to a halt.

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to test and deploy the update until later today. Expect a new giveaway tomorrow early…. yes, even if this new fix doesn’t work (which, to be honest, while we’re hopeful… aren’t holding our breath either).

Update: Lather. Rinse. Repeat. New build, have to start testing all over again. Sorry folks, but once again, nothing we can do about it short of coding an entirely new comment system for a platform we’ll be dumping in three weeks.
