Google has one again quietly updated their Maps for Mobile application. Version 1.3.1 was released earlier this week with no stated list of changes. The last version, 1.3.0, added mobile traffic monitoring. The free J2ME application is available from Google’s web site.

As part of the transition from Google Local (back) to Google Maps, Google has issued a new version of Maps for Mobile. The Java application is now at version 1.2.1, but, like with past version updates, Google has not said what was changed beyond the new name for the program.
