RCR is citing unnamed documents (which, we have tracked down to Cingular’s corporate intranet) that Cingular will launch UMTS on November 1. This will be a re-launch of the AT&T Wireless UMTS service in the existing six cities, as well as in 10 new cities. Cingular will not be launching with any UMTS phones, opting instead to only launch with the Sierra AirCard 850, which supports HSDPA and EDGE at both 850 and 1900 MHz bands.
