Verizon Updates LG Voyager Firmware

Verizon has begun to issue a new firmware update for the LG VX10000 Voyager. The update bumps firmware version from V03 to V05 on the device.

The Voyager was released within the past month as Verizon’s answer to Apple’s iPhone. The device has generally received acclaim for being one of Verizon’s most advanced devices, but still falling short of iPhone in terms of browser, email, and overall performance.

The new update makes several changes and numerous improvements, including to the web browser, Bluetooth, and battery life. Read more for a complete list. To update your phone, take it to the nearest Verizon Wireless store, but do call first to confirm availability of the update at your store.

Will there be future updated for the verizon voyager. If so when will the next one be if you no?

It’s not clear if there will be another Voyager update. That depends on a lot of factors and right now LG and Verizon aren’t commenting on it. That’s not to say there won’t be an update… we just don’t know right now.

For what its worth, this update does NOT allow the use of ESPN application on the external touch screen. Just like before, it says “Flip Open To Use”.

Will a brand new phone coming from verizon already have this update loaded, or will I need to go to the verizon store to take care of this when I get the phone?

@ Todd.
Call them.
Go direct to the source. Verizon.
I would find the product IDs etc from Verizon direct, then find one online. There was a shortage of LG Voyager Cell phones at retail stores. !From what I hear!!!
