Cox Testing Voice Over LTE in Live Trials

Cable and internet service provider Cox has confirmed that it its currently testing LTE voice calls using its own AWS (1700 MHz) and 700 MHz spectrum. The LTE trials are taking place in Phoenix and San Diego while also deploying another network based on CDMA EVDO Rev. A. Cox has committed to both CDMA and LTE on an equal basis, with the trials using equipment from Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei. Voice over LTE, broadband data and HD video streaming are some of the services being offered in test markets over the trial network.
