CTIA: NIM Announces VZ Navigator Update, Windows Mobile Version

Location Based Services provider Networks In Motion has announced the introduction of new upgrades to Verizon’s branded VZ Navigator service which now features traffic alerts, real-time traffic information (in 75 cities), 3D route vizualization from the driver’s perpesctive to ease comprehension of directions, live event and movie search, gas station locator, and real-time weather information.

Version 4 of VZ Navigator with the aforementioned new features is expected sometime this month on 20 handsets, with the Windows Mobile version launching in the same timeframe.

Not sure what to make of this the Motorola Q9C version of VZnavigator is still version 3.X so …. what’s going on here? when are we smartphone users gonna get the update??

Physical interface for Blackberry is terrible, very counterintuitive to use with the trackball. Was hoping they’d fix it with the update but now it’s even worse.
