Sony Ericsson today announced the GC89, the world’s first quad-band EDGE data card that integrates 802.11b and 802.11g connectivity. Essentially, the card is identical to the GC83 with the addition of the two flavors of WiFi networking. Sony Ericsson expects the GC89 to be for sale to customers some time in the first quarter of 2005.
