CTIA: Execution Day
It’s official, earlier today Cingular executed their merger agreement with AT&T Wireless. The two companies are now just Cingular, though as we previously reported, Cingular will continue use of the AT&T Wireless brand name for up to six months as stores, customer databases and retail channels transition over to Cingular.

Cingular+AT&T: FCC Approves AT&T Wireless Merger Plan
While we don’t like chatting much about the procedures regarding the AT&T Wireless and Cingular merger, the FCC has officially approved Cingular’s plan to assimilate the two company’s assets and spectrum. This was a one of the more major hurdles of the merger, the last remaining being approval from the Department of Justice.
