Verizon: Audiovox XV6600 Begins Release
Verizon has begun to release the Audiovox XV6600. Currently, we can only confirm the XV6600WOC (without camera) has actually been released, and neither are fully for sale online yet.
The XV6600WOC is identical to the PPC-6601, the first commercially available EV-DO handset in the United States.
Sprint Nextel
It’s official. Sprint will merge with Nextel. At the point-of-merger, the company will be called Sprint Nextel. This will reflect the combined company’s goal to continue using both brands while the two networks are combined under Sprint’s CDMA platform.

Cingular+AT&T: Motorola Triplets Firmware Updated
Motorola has issued a new official firmware, TRIPLETS_G_0B_09.55R for the Triplets (V400/V600) family.
In addition, firmware version R364_G_0B.D1.1BR has been issued for the V180 and V220.
Cingular+AT&T: Nokia 6620 Firmware Updated
Nokia has issued a new firmware for the 6620. While its version, v3.14.1 appears to be extremely similar to the last version, v2.14.1, we have confirmed with a Nokia service center that it indeed is a new version, and not a typo.

New PRLs have been issued for America’s Choice and other plans, call *228 from your phone to update.
Also, owners of the Audiovox XV6600 and LG VX8000 (EV-DO phones) should dial *22899 to get a special PRL update that addresses acknowledgment of an EV-DO signal being pushed to the phone.
