VZW Launches LG’s Chocolate and VX5300
Verizon Wireless officially launched the LG Chocolate VX8500 today. The Chocolate line is a series of high-end phones using touch-sensitive keys that disappear when not in use. The VX8500 features the following:

Sprint today released the Samsung A420, a basic voice only phone. While the A-420 cannot access the internet, it does support SMS text messaging. The A420 is free on Sprint’s website (with new two year agreement), and the full retail price being $169.99.

Cingular Charges Postpaid, Rewards Prepaid TDMA Customers
Cingular beginning next month will insert an administrative charge of $5 per month for customers who have not migrated to Cingular’s GSM network. The fee is to encourage migration, and reduce the remaining TDMA customer base.
