Sprint PPC-6700 Firmware Update Fixes Call Problems

UTStarcom has released an update for the HTC-designed PPC-6700. The update only adds the ability to receive an incoming call while in an active data session. It does not update the version of Windows Mobile on the device.

Samsung Blackjack Breaks Cingular Pricing

Cingular’s Samsung i607 Blackjack is their first UMTS Windows Mobile Smartphone. That appears to be causing Cingular some problems with their pricing structure.

Opera Mini 3.0 Released

Opera has released version 3.0 of their popular browser software for mobile phones. Version 3.0, as previously reported, adds RSS support as well as support for uploading photos and files to many existing photo upload services.

The new version also includes a more robust connection wizard, broadening its support for J2ME devices.

Verizon Launches Kyocera K323

Verizon has launched Kyocera K323, a mid-range phone designed to compete with Motorola’s V325 and upcoming V325i. The 1xRTT-only flip-phone combines a VGA camera with Bluetooth and VZ Navigator support.

The K323 retails for $29.99 after rebate with new two-year agreement.
