Sidekick iD Revealed by T-Mobile Rebate Form
The first press image of the Sidekick iD has been leaked, courtesy of a
T-Mobile rebate form. As reported here

the Sidekick iD is
meant to be a budget version of the Sidekick 3 without Bluetooth,
miniSD expansion, or EDGE data access. The price point for the phone
has not been finalized, but is expected to fall at $99 [...]
Sprint Excluded From Government Contract Auction
Sprint has been excluded from a $20 billion dollar contract auctioned
off by the government. The contract, called Networx Universal was to
allow for provisioning wireless voice, video, and data services to 135
federal agencies in 192 countries for ten years with total spending going as high as $48 billion.

CTIA: Bluetooth SIG Announces Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
The Bluetooth Special Interest Group has unveiled a new version of the
Bluetooth radio standard. Bluetooth 2.1+EDR is an upgrade to the 2.0
currently used in high end phones, but several new key features have
been added to increase security and improve device pairing.

CTIA: AT&T Announces HSUPA Rollout, More HSDPA Markets
At CTIA, AT&T’s executive vice-president of of network
planning and architecture Kris Rinne has announced that HSUPA
(High Speed Uplink Packet Access) will be rolled out this year in
staggered phases, with the first compatible products (most likely
