Newegg is offering the Seagate Backup Plus 3 TB USB 3.0 external hard drive for $99.99.
The Backup Plus line replaces Seagate’s GoFlex line, and actually is a SATA-port based system with USB 3.0 docking station. The GoFlex/Backup Plus docks can be interchanged to work with FireWire 800, as well as Thunderbolt.
And, of course, with the removal of a few screws, you have an internal 3.5-inch Seagate hard drive, plus a free hard drive enclosure and USB 3.0 drive adapter (note that this may void the warranty, so be careful there). We love these drives because of their simplicity and exceptional performance. And yes, we’ve tested them… a lot.
Act fast though, Amazon.com has already sold out of the same deal. For internal drive shoppers, hit the link below and run a search for the internal drive. It’s the same price and drive, but sans the risk of voiding your warranty.
