    Any idea at this point if this is going to be a world phone for Sprint?

  2. DP

    I’m referring to either phone.

    Tri-mode should be CDMA/WiMAX/Wi-Fi.

    The htc hero I think has the special coating on the phone that prevents scratches and fingerprints and it has some awesome cool features that compare to the pre. At this point there are so many other options other than the iphone and the expensive plan they force you to get. I would love the iphone just not on att. I can’t wait till these phones come out. HTC is really doing some cool phones and the android from samsung should be a nice addition to the lineup.

    Does this phone interfere with Sprint’s roadmap of releasing the HTC Touch Pro2?

    @JJ

    I feel the same about the iPhone 3G S, I do not want AT&T, if it is released on VZ CDMA in 2010, I would buy it full price, have them flash it at Sprint.
    Also about “the htc hero… the special coating on the phone that prevents scratches and fingerprints and it has some awesome cool features that compare to the pre”, sounds nice, Q3 maybe !?

    I also confirm, some 3 weeks ago I was told by Sprint higher up sources, that a high end Samsung Omnia style is coming, it will have CDMA and G4, note he did not say WiMAX by name, the problem for me is that Los Angeles, is not even on the G4 map of 2009 or 2010!

    Thank You

    This is good news, just wish it was bigger on details. I’ve got Android (somewhat) running on my HTC Mogul and even the bugs and the lack of drivers, I still enjoy it more than WinMo. I just hope I can hold out till one these phones comes out..

    So if this thing goes Sprint, does that mean I have to settle for the myTouch?

  29. ELIMINATED

    I pray that the Hero comes to Sprint. I have the Instinct and it’s a great phone that was supposed to have a lot of apps and special feature to compete with the iPhone. They even held a developer contest for apps that dissapeared. I think the reason for this may be because of the Hero and Samsung Galaxy, both Andriod phones to compete with the iPhone. I read a rumor that AT&T was going to be carrying it, but that would make no sense as it would compete with their Holy Grail, the iPhone.

    when the HTC HERO be launge by sprint ?

  35. JJ

    @Carlos. There is a leaked flyer from sprint that may be real and if it is the htc hero will be launched on October 11. I really hope its true. The htc hero is making wait out even after the touch pro 2 comes out. Ive been waiting since dec 08 when my contract expired so I will wait longer and have more phones to choose from. We’ll see what Sprint does.

  38. Zachary Trant

    @F1 Chances are, it would support LTE for 4G instead of WiMAX, unless they were gearing towards sprint, since sprint is pretty much the only provider not going LTE for 4G, that’s probably why they didn’t mention WiMAX by name.
