First Details and Images of Verizon Blitz Surface

The first images of the UTStarcom TXT8010 have surfaced thanks to a leaked Equipment Guide featuring Verizon branding on the device.

The messaging and multimedia device is expected to be launched first through Wal-Mart as the Verizon Blitz on August 8th under the inPulse prepaid lineup and will feature a sliding QWERTY keyboard, EVDO data access, VCAST Music support, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, microSDHC expansion slot, VZ Navigator support, and a 1.3 megapixel camera.

Best Buy is also expected to carry the device on September 28th, though these dates can change at anytime.

It’s nice to see someone pick up HTC’s Blue Angel/Harrier design of having a vertical, slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

It will be interesting to see if the rest of the phone steps up to the same level of quality…

Just a note… there is NO EVDO on this device.

There is, on account of the inclusion of VCAST Music, which only works over EVDO data. If you can link me to the spec sheet that says otherwise anonymous, I’m willing to correct it.

this phone gets annoying after awhile.especially when it stops working.
