Garmin, the company well known for manufacturing GPS receivers and solutions for navigation has now stepped up to the plate as a handset manufacturer with the Garmin nuvifone.
The nuvifone features a touchscreen display, autonomous GPS receiver, virtual keyboard, media player, full web browser, Google Search software, access to the Garmin Online real-time information service with updates for traffic, news and stock information, camera with geotagging support, a dock which triggers the GPS functionality automatically when used, preloaded maps of North America as well as Eastern/Western Europe, and both an email and instant messaging client.
No pricing information is available at this time with more specific information expected at 3GSM in Barcelona, Spain later this month.
