HTC have announced the first devices in their future lineup that will run the forthcoming Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
The HTC Touch Pro 2 and Touch Diamond 2 represent a further refinement of the bespoke device lines with WVGA resolution displays, an upgraded version of TouchFLO, and Windows Mobile 6.1 with an upgrade to 6.5 once it is released.
The HTC Touch Pro2 will feature a3.6-inch display in a thinner design with adjustable tilting display and a new high-quality speakerphone implementation with two mics and two speakers for noise cancellation that is activated by turning the phone on its face. “Straight Talk” conferencing allows group emails to be converted to group calls and conference call calendar reminders to dial and login with one touch once the information is entered into the calendar.
The rest of the featureset consists of a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and video recorder, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi radio, GPS transceiver, accelerometer, and FM radio.Â The HTC Touch Diamond 2 will feature a 5.0 megapixel auto-focus camera, memory card slot, and larger 3.2-inch display on top of the above featureset as the Touch Pro2.
The Touch Pro 2 and Diamond 2 will be available later in the year.
