Is this any better tha the many WM 6.1 ROMs that are already out there?
I’ve been running the Hyperdragon 6.1 ROM, and there are a few others I wanted to try before I cook my own. I’m wondering if I should even waste my time with this official ROM…

Well if the new stock ROM is more stable than the many cooked ROMs out there, hopefully we can get a kitchen based on the new ROM and even better cooked ROMs…

It depends on what type of user you are.

Mainstream users will be fine with the update.

Hacked firmwares typically are less stable, but have more RAM and can offer vast improvements in performance (as they strip off unnecessary applications and middleware).

My advice would be for most users to use the stock firmware update from HTC. However, if you want faster performance, hack away.

I have never seen a third class mobile like HTC.
