HTC S740 “Rose” Slider Gains US FCC Approval, Lacks 3G Support

The FCC just approved HTC’s new S740 slider device, also known as the “Rose” for the US market, although 3G support isn’t offered in the first-released variant.

The Windows Mobile 6.1-based device features a 3.2MP camera, MicroSD slot, a 2.4-inch TFT-LCD screen, Wi-Fi, GPS and A-GPS support, built-in RSS reader, a four-row slide-out QWERTY keypad, and a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM/EDGE radio.  The device also features a Qualcomm MSM7225- 528MHz processor with 256MB of ROM and SDRAM.

No word yet as to which US-based GSM carrier will offer the device.
