  • HTC to Purchase Dopod, Use HTC Brand in Asia

HTC has announced in a press release that they will pursue a global
branding strategy to streamline products and marketing by purchasing
    the assets of Dopod International.

Dopod is currently the leading PDA/smartphone distributor in Asia that
distributes its own line of products, and HTC will work towards
integrating the assets of Dopod into its product portfolio and expand
its marketshare as a leading device manufacturer by using the HTC brand
in Asia, as well as integrating Dopod International’s workforce into
HTC with full support services available for Dopod devices.

The purchase agreement of the company is still pending shareholder
    approval in June.
