Huawei to Enter US CDMA Market

The FCC has revealed that the Chinese ODM Huawei is planning to enter
the US CDMA market with an entry-level lineup of phones.

The M318 shown here with MetroPCS branding, is a basic clamshell with
color screen and CDMA 1xRTT data support, and not much else in the way
of features.

The manufacturer is known for a diverse portfolio of
phones from basic voice only offerings, to feature-packed phones that
rival those available in the US from major international manufacturers
in China and Asia. The company is also known for building network
equipment and bid on a contract for Sprint’s WiMax network, which it
lost to Nokia earlier this year.
