  • iPhone: No Insurance For You

Think Secret is reporting that Apple’s iPhone will not be covered by AT&T’s wireless insurance provider, Asurion. Unlike Asurion’s insurance policies with Sprint and Verizon, Asurion does not cover select devices on AT&T. This has been historical with Asurion, extending back to the early days of Cingular Wireless.

Specifically, Asurion does not insure Cingular or AT&T devices which are considered PDAs, limited release, or are prone to damage. This includes all AT&T PDAs, as well as limited release phones, and car phones.

With this move, consumers will have to turn to third-party insurers such as Safeware to get damage and loss coverage for their brand new iPhones.
