Jitterbug Releases More Conventional J Cellphone

ImageJitterbug has announced a new handset for its low-cost service intended to reposition the virtual operator further from the perception of being a senior citizen oriented carrier to an alternative for many types of consumers.

The J Cellphone is an updated version of the Samsung SPH-A120 Jitterbug phone with a standard keypad, but the similarities end there as the J features Bluetooth, improved on-screen navigation, custom ringtone support, dedicated speakerphone key, call waiting and 30% more battery life compared to the previous models due to its lower weight despite being thinner.

The Jitterbug J also offers new services, such as MyCalendar, which lets users add calendar items online that automatically sync with the handset, new SMS templates, 24/7 access to a nurse call-in service, and a Complete Care package that bundles in roadside assistance and free replacement of lost or broken phones.

The Jitterbug J is available now for $147 online and via select retailers.
