At an event sponsored by Australian wireless carrier Telstra, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer confirmed the existence of Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5, a heretofore unknown future version of Windows Mobile.
Ballmer also went ahead and confirmed the availability of the mobile operating system sometime in 2009 for manufacturers to test and deploy further in the year, with the projection of availability for Windows Mobile 7 being pushed into 2010 based on developer comments.
