  • Motorola Announces Successful LTE Test on 700Mhz Band

Motorola has announced in a press release that it has completed a successful data transmission test on the 700 Mhz band in both laboratory conditions and outdoors utilizing its own LTE Radio Access Test Network and LTE eNode-B platform with a prototype LTE device.

This milestone brings the company closer to its goal of bringing LTE solutions and equipment to market in 2009 in time for carriers to begin the transition to the as yet defined network standard, with real-time mobile video transmission used as one of the tests for the base station and transmission equipment. The test made use of the QoS protocols built-in to LTE to ensure high-speed data access in demanding real-world conditions and also demonstrated real-time data application priority with other intensive applications.
