  • New Verizon LG Chocolate 3 Launch Information Surfaces

New information regarding price and release information has surfaced on the last of three new LG models slated to launch for Verizon this quarter.

The LG Chocolate 3, as it is now named will be launched on July 14th in all Verizon retail channels, online, and Telesales, though reports abound that third-party dealers had begun selling the clamshell as early as late last month.

The phone features an FM transmitter for wireless streaming of music, which is a first for a Verizon-branded device on top of a 2.2 inch internal QVGA display, 1GB of internal memory with additional microSDHC expansion slot, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder and zoom, external media player controls with mechanical touch sensitive scroll wheel, speakerphone, V CAST Music/Video support, GPS support through VZ Navigator, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR with stereo audio support.

In keeping with the music playback capabilities of the phone, it will also feature a 3.5 mm standard headphone jack, stereo speakers, and will be the first Chocolate phone to feature the revised Media Center portal which will replace the Get It Now menu on all new Verizon phones and non-smart devices.

The LG Chocolate 3 will be launched at $299.99 retail, $249.99 after new 1 year agreement and $199.99 after new 2 year agreement. Both the 1 year and 2 year agreements will also qualify for an additional $50 online instant discount or mail-in rebate which will bring the total down to $249.99 and $149.99 respectively.

It’s the first Chocolate phone to feature the Media Center, which incorporates Get it Now technology, as well as V CAST Music, TV, and Video.

Both the enV2 and Dare also feature the Media Center. We’ve updated the article to clarify and correct it.
