Opera has taken a rather novel approach to submitting its iPhone version of the popular Opera Mini browser to Apple’s App Store for approval.
First it has issued a press release stating the submission of the app earlier this morning, and it has also opened up a dedicated portal with a timer that details the amount of time from initial submission to the hoped-for final approval and rollout in the App Store while detailing the status of the application during the process.
Apple has gained a considerable amount of notoriety in regards to its enforcement of its rules regarding the approval of applications that it sees as emulating core functionality of its embedded applications, including Mobile Safari, as it has approved other web browsers for inclusion in the App Store that are based on the same WebKit framework as the aforementioned.
