Palm webOS 1.3.1 Update for Pre Now Available

Palm has pushed out webOS version 1.3.1 for the Pre ahead of tommorow’s launch of the Pixi, which will launch with the updated version as its default. It should also be noted that the update does not re-enable iTunes sync.

The following features are now supported:

• Yahoo! is now available as a Calendar/Contacts/instant messaging synchronization account.
• Forwarding a text or multimedia message by tapping the message > Forward.
• A new option is available for restarting the phone: Press and hold Power > Power > Restart with the prior restart method (Device Info > Reset Options > Restart) still being available.
• Widescreen videos now display in widescreen mode on the phone by default, instead of being cropped.
• Tapping to play a YouTube video embedded on a web page launches the YouTube application and the video plays in the app.
• Selecting a unique ringtone for new message alerts is now possible by the following commands: Open Messaging > application menu > Preferences & Accounts > Sound > Ringtone.
• Listening to a song with album art displayed tapping the screen below the art displays a playback slider and dragging the slider jumps forward or backward in the song.
