PCS Intel today is releasing its first piece of software meant to improve wireless connectivity. This is a basic improvement of the Sprint PCS Vision connection script, with optimizations for EV-DO devices. It is meant for USB and Bluetooth 2.0 high-speed connections.
This modem script is for all EV-DO phones on all EV-DO carriers (Verizon Wireless, Sprint PCS, Alltel, etc). While we can’t test every EV-DO phone, it should work with the vast majority of devices. The PCS Intel EV-DO Modem Script removes key bottlenecks that prevented the ability to use your phone as a modem at full speed. This release provides up to five times faster connections than Apple’s built-in connection software.
We only suggest using this release with USB and Bluetooth 2.0 connections. If you are connecting with a Bluetooth 1 phone or Mac, please continue to use the Sprint PCS Vision modem script. Future versions may provide integrated support for slower Bluetooth connections.
Please be sure to post feedback in the forums, using the link below. Knowing what works and what doesn’t will help us improve this script much faster.
