Hack: Enable GPS & EV-DO Rev A on the XV6900
The XV6900 still lacks GPS and EV-DO Rev A, due to Verizon's refusal to release a timely firmware update. This guide will show you how to flash to a different firmware, enabling GPS and EV-DO Rev A.

Registry Edits:

  • PHM Registry Editor
    • Today screen, Single line date
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today
      • "Date"=dword:1 | "AutoSingleLineDatePlugin"=dword:1
    • Disable the pop-up notification that says Message Sent
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox
      • If not there, create a new key "Settings"
      • Create a new string value "SMSNoSentMsg" and set the Decimal value to 1
