The Motorola MOTOROKR E8 features a large dynamic QVGA color display with haptic feedback, MOTOMAGX Linux-based operating system, speakerphone, microSD expansion slot, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, media player, external touch-sensitive music player controls with haptic feedback, Java support for games and applications, SyncML support, email client, and EDGE packet data.

The Motorola MOTOROKR E8 is a music phone with ModeShift technology that allows its keypad to morph from a numberpad for calling, to music controls to use as a music player, or to camera controls to use as an imaging device. The Rokr E8 uses Moto's new FastScroll wheel for navigation around the phone, which itself is a quad-band GPRS/EDGE device. The MOTOROKR E8 is also the first Moto phone to provide haptic feedback, so you know when you have activated a virutual key or not. The MOTOROKR E8 has numerous music features. It has compatibility with Windows Media Player 11, and FM radio, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Song ID. Finally, in the way of file formats, the phone supports MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WMA, WAV, AMR-NB, Real Audio (RA) v10

The MOTOROKR E8's featureset includes stereo bluetooth, 2GB of internal memory with up to 4GB of external memory strage, Microsoft music ecosystem support, a 2.0 megapixel camera with 8x zoom, multi-shot feature, video capture and video playback, airplane mode so you can play music in the air, voice readouts of text messages, number dialing, and recieving a call, Moto's CrystalTalk technology, and a full HTML browser. The MOTOROKR E8 also uses Moto's MOTOMAGX mobile linux platform. MOTOMAGX supports programs developed in Java ME and is completely open and optimized for 3rd party development.
