RIM Confirms BlackBerry Service Outage (Updated)

In a report filed by Reuters, an email has been sent by RIM support account manager Bryan Simpson to all users of the BlackBerry service regarding a “critical severity outage” affecting both enterprise and consumer users using email services in the Americas. No additional comment from RIM was available at this time.

Update: RIM has confirmed services are fully restored and functional for all users as of 6:30 EST Monday evening.
