Samsung Ace SPH-i325 for Sprint in Q1 2008

One of our forum members were hot on the heels of news that a Samsung BlackJack device could be out for the Sprint Network Q1 2008. Revealed as the Samsung SPH-i325 Ace, the device appears to be running Windows Mobile 6.0 with the possibility of being the first device to run Windows Mobile 6.1.

This phone also includes a 1.3 megapixel camera and a QWERTY keyboard that looks similar to the Blackjack 2.  The Ace will run off of Sprint’s CDMA network but early reports reveal that it may be released as a CDMA/GSM worldwide device.

Samsung’s last smart device to be offered on Sprint was the IP-830w, a version of the SPH-i830w also sold on Verizon Wireless. Samsung’s other two popular Windows Mobile phones (the SPH-i730 and SPH-i760) are Verizon Wireless exclusives. The SPH-i325 may be the first Samsung smartphone to take advantage of Sprint’s consumer-focused data applications (Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, and the Sprint Music Store).
