i thought the r810 had AWS band support?

The first version of the R810 is a rebranded Delve with no changes. The second version approved will have AWS when it launches around May/June.

Is there a possibility that the Motorola QA4 Evoke will be launched by Sprint as well ? Or is it strictly a Metropcs phone ?

That all depends on Sprint’s decision to carry the phone. We already know there’s a standard Legacy CDMA version that Alltel carries, so it’s all in Sprint’s court to decide to launch it.

I think MetroPCS users will Definitely be happy about this, since its High-tech and you can use ALL the features Metro has to offer.

The Samsung Finesse is going to be on March 31.. And the Motorola Hint is on April 3. The Motorola Evoke is on April 29.. And there is going to be a Samsung r420 that i have no seen yet is on May 8… This is for sure because i work for Metro pcs in Boston..

i work for metro pcs and i heard the samsung finesse in coming out april 1, and i heard the stores are not going to carry the blackberry curve because it is to expensive..only best buy will have it!! do you kno if its true?

Looking forward to the Finesse! Little scared of the evoke, recently tested them in the market where I work and they all have been returned to motorola for further development. Seems there was some issue. As far as the BB, seems its not a dead lock yet. There are only 10,000 available in the entire company and the warranty exchange issue may be a problem for customers with the handset… Not sure what kind of backlash will occur from this.

will the Samsung Finesse have a full keyboard like the HTC Touch PRO?

I just got the Finesse today, March 30th. The retailer said it was just released right before I walked in. Are they precharged, or should I let it sit on the charger overnight? Or is this the type of phone that you should run down as much as possible?

Also, let’s say I want to download some apps or mp3s, whatever. For instance I know google has some interesting apps. Can I just download them to the phone then run them?

It’s just really awesome to have two samsung phones that use the same charger. Yay. Unfortunately the other one is on Alltel. Hopefully the service area is good enough where I live to go full Metro at some point, until I need a SAT phone of course.

When I said Monday or Tuesday I mean it will be on the metro pcs website .. stores will maybe get them on weds or thursday…. My friend got the finesse on tuesday afternoon and the other person still has not got it yet.
I got to play with it for a little while. kool phone but I think you will like the hint better…

Just to let everyone know, you can’t do youtube on the Finesse – MetroPCS has locked it out (even though you’re paying for “unlimited” web – ahem).

If you can’t use youtube on the Finesse then is there any way to unlock it or upgrade the software to get it running?

yes, it’s a lengthy workaround. set up a playlist of youtube vids and download them. convert them to mp4 and throw them on micro sd’s or upload them to memory. if you want good fullscreen the dimensions are 240×400.

the other workaround is a webvid site that uses mp4’s. anyone know one?

The Finesse is also equipped with metroNavigator, which wiil give audible turn-by-turn driving directions, easy-to-read maps and the actual feelings of going site, for a change. It also has a local search feature so anyone can find points of interest as well as movies and events going on in his area. With mail@metro, anyone can easily access some of his favorite Email accounts and set his phone to alert him when new emails are received.

Its not a matter of who’s right or wrong. its a matter of the Corp changing dates.. I just called my guy also
and what he was told is that its pushed back another week or so do to the great sales of the new Samsung
phone.. They do not want to lose sales just like any other company.. so they are just riding the samsung a little
longer… Also here is another one for you.. The new evoke is SUPPOSE to be out of the 24th of this month..
But if the sales of the hint go well also it might be push back also.. They look at numbers every day ..

I need to confirm if its true about the Metropcs Blackberry web issue.I am finally getting ready to purchase one but I had a friend that bought it the first week it came out and returned it because she said the web and email was working only when it wanted to so she turned it in for a new one and the other new one was having problems too. Is it a software problem with the metro Blackberry? She finally switched to another carrier and got herself the blackberry pearl and she is happy now. I dont want to leave Metro because i simply love the unlimited everything and especially on a Blackberry but after what I heard, I dont know??? Is anyone else having problems with their Metro Blackberry? I would like to know….Thanks

I have had my BB for about 3 weeks now and love it, I dont have any problems with my email. I will say that I have to learn how to use the phone. I have always had a regular phone w/out all the applications, so it is taking me sometime to learn everything so I can us everything on there. My brother has the same phone on sprint and says he is getting ripped off becasue my phone does the same thing his does. With all that being said I think it was a good buy.

To answer la nina bonitas question….i read that you can even use a stylus to manuever around on the touch screen so i guess your fingernail would work too..but normally these touch screens have body heat sensor types and detects the warmth of the finger that makes it work…but you can try…and let me know…

i have the finesse. you cant play youtube on it. it has a nice web browser but its a little slow. you can download from free ringtone websites. i have a good one and the ringers sound nice. it comes with a stylus, usb plug, charger, phone, battery and back cover and a fancy box. it has manuals to. i am taking mine back for the hint cause i love youtube gospel channels and i told the clerk thats one of the main reasons i want it, we all make mistakes.

Why would they(metropcs) drop the motorola evoke ? I can see metropcs delaying the launch, but cancel ?? That makes absolutely no sense at all. Can anyone confirm that ? Or is it just a rumor ?

That is true about the finesse that it cant go to utube. I used to go to http://www.funformobile.com and download free ringtones for my other phones that i used to have but have not tried with this new one so for those of you who have the finesse, try it . i will try it myself and keep you updated….

You cant download ringtones from funformobile.com with the samsung finesse, sorry…somehow every samsung phone that i have had, does not work with that site.

I can download from funformoble i got like 8 ringtones from them today…I just cant find the hole where the stylus should be any help ??I had to upgrade to the $50 plan today when i bought mine ..so far i love mine !!!

It true that you can download ringtones from funformobile.com, the trick is that when you go to the website, click ringtones, and when it takes you there….it takes you all the way to the left of the website and it looks blank, scroll to the right of it and you find the ringtones there waiting for you…..to answer heathers question??? there is no compartment for the stylus on the finesse itself…..to answer benzl, you can only use the smartphones on the 50 dollar plans…

There is no way that metro is going to drop the evoke…I refuse to believe that. That’s going to be a cash cow. a touch screen that still has a keypad is all i’ve been waiting for.

well guys i went in to a metro store near my job in pembroke pines an luckly the store manager is a kool dude he confirmed the the evoke is delayed for software issues an should drop in two weeks o so…so if you live in south florida 4 sure we gona get the evoke …..am so excited …….if you have time go in one of your local metro store an ask……ill keep you posted thanks

Does the Finesse from Metro get television as some of the television stations are on the e-mail list I thought. I wanted to get a sound card with a laptop as I had once but my credit rating is too poor and they refused to issue me one.
So I thought the Finesse would do all the things the laptop does except type out letters and manuscripts.

I am having an issue with my computer pulling up my Samsung Finesse. I can’t seem to find the hardware. I have Vista, I checked my Computer Icon, but it is not there. And it isn’t showing up when I plug in the USB cord at first. Anybody have the same issue.

to im84. i have the messager and i am having the same problem. first make sure your phone’s PC connection is set to USB mass storage. Also try formatting your memory card first. I had to take my phone to the metro service center and the replaced it because it was a problem with the phone.

I just bought the motorola hint qa30 and when I get an email into my email account, my phone doesn’t register it or alert me…..how come? If I log into my email- the email is there, but my phones not alerting me that someone emailed me.

Kelli my settings were already like that when I went to go check them and all I keep getting when I try to play is unsupported file or when I try to download it starts to load then stops and does nothing else. I think the samsung finesses is the biggest rip-off. You pay over $350.00 for a phone and can’t even watch you tube or any other videos? Biggest waste of my money. I plan to return mine . You should be ashamed for even coming out with this.

I just purchased a samsung finesse, i am having a lot of trouble uploading pics from my computer to my phone, and apparently you cant upload music from itunes into the finesse. can anyone give me some tips?

and when i put them as attachments and send them to my phone as MMS, the register on the phone in SIZE, but there is nothing there! WTF

I purchased the Finesse and the only way to add songs from my pc was to add it to the memory card. I had to purchase a USB adapter for the micro sd. I was able like everyone else to download from funformobile.com. Hope this helps.

However, I still can not download any videos. I even tried downloading straight into my Micro SD and it did not work.

Also, the Mail@Metro does not work for Yahoo Mail either.

I think they are selling it purely for looks!!!

nyla i feel ya pain i miss haveing ringtones too. what i ended up have to do was just useing a friends phone that could download ringtones and then just sending them to my phone becouse i tried everything and you just cant download ringtones from any where with this phone. i feel like its such a rip off i should have just went with my frist mind and got the damn razer. and for bianca when you do that you still cant save the ringtone when you do it like that becouse when you do it tells you that there nothing there to save the only good thing about this phone is that it takes good pics the camra is real nice i got a lotta pics of my kids to put on my computer

Did you guys see the new phone coming for metro pcs? just check out phonescoop.com. There is a new Huawei M750 phone and it looks like another touchscreen. Does not say much about it because it was just released from the FCC, but it does display the metropcs logo on the case so for those of you looking for another touchscreen…there you go…

CC you are correct the Huawei M750 will be release soon, no date yet placed but the phone is being release in place of the Motorola Evoke, which still has too many system problems and was dropped officialy (inside info from corporate offices). The Huawei M750 is a touch screen slider phone that also has a QWERTY Keyboard when you slide it out to the left like the Samsung Messenger from MetroPCS/Cricket. The down fall is that it has a 1.3 megapixel camera and all the features from the specs are a step lower from the Finesse. Availability is unknown yet. There is alway a hold back period between such strong phones to assure that MetroPCS gets the most sale’s from the release time of each phone and there is no clash of interest in phones and prices per features, expecially the more expensive ones like the finesse and the BB (the BB is Best buy only, since they have a 3 month contract with MetroPCS that only allows Best Buy to sell it for three months before all other MetroPCS authorized dealer get it in July 09′ and can sell it)

Now in reference of the Finesse, yes the phone came out and there are limited features that can be accessed on the phone since it uses BREW , instead of JAVA.With this being said most games, and apps are written in JAVA and can’t be loaded on to the phone (yes it sucks), but i got one and honestly this phone will be MetroPCS’s “never stop giving cash cow”, since all the apps.,vidoes and other feature we thought it came with are being worked on and being release one by one at a certain cost, making a business out of the finesse buyers that want more for the phones. The phone has many hidden capabilities that MetroPCS doesn’t want you to know since I spoke to Samsung directly and they told me that most of the features we thought that came with the phone were requested to Samsung by MetroPCS to have locked away, that way when MetroPCS & Samsung work together they can sell you the software and apps for this phone to support the features and apps. you desire and could custom your phon to your likeing….in other words this phone is very basic just right now but was created with the potential to be infinite and rival the iPhone but with due time (i don’t know that time frame, its all corporate decisions still in question)…so for all those who got a bit disappointed by the no youtube or those features and want to return it….are crazy! If were a bit patient then this phone will start to build up….but if your an inpatient consumer and gotta have it all NOW kinda thing…then go get an iPhone honestly and pay the high monthly bills and limited mins. they offer (my sacrastic opinion). See this is where MetroPCS gets you with a great looking over promising phone which builds up a lot of Hype and gets consumers in the “I GOT HAVE IT OR I’LL DIE” metality and then when we get it its not what we all expected and either accept it or return it. I Love my Finesse and I’m patient since everytime I check @metro there is more new stuff being added little by little (mind you the empty selection for “Metro Featured Apps!”) and I know I will have a better phone with time as software and apps. are readily available for purchase and download from MetroPCS(at “Metro Featured Apps!”). Most people who are returning the phone now and this phone starts building up with those features will cry later when its either doubled in price or to hard to get anywhere locally or unavailable at all, with a sense of regret (This is my speculation on the future outcome only, since this happens a lot).

So hold on to your Finesse! Its the begining to an amazing Smartphone with due time! I don’t know about the other phones, except if you want to know more on the Finesse go and join for free: http://www.samsung-finesse.com which is a forum from finesse consumers like us.

I just bought to Motorola Hint. I downloaded ring tones off my computer and transferred onto my SD card. Be sure to put them in your Sounds folder. Then go into multimedia app pull up ringtone and sounds. Next click My Sounds toggle down to the sound you want click on Set as button. Then just decide if you want it as a default ringtone, contact ringtone or alert ringtone. You can also do the same thing to down load music for your music player. Just make sure you put the songs in the music folder. I hope this helps.

My finesse doesnt allow me to upload mp3s for the fact that i dont have memory because of the mission impossible movies that it came with.. i deleted the movies and they are back again.. is there a way i can permanetly delete them for good?

The Motorola Hint sucks do not buy. I have been tring to download ringtones for about 3 months now. I go to the link to download it and all you see is a dumb sound logo playing the ringtone. If you go to options their is not a place to save the ringtone. Anyone know how to fix this problem let me know thanks. and do buy this phone

Just so everyone knows, as an experienced Fin(esse) user, I can sort of tell that MPCS has placed specific restrictions on the included browsers and OS’s. This means that you may never get the ringtones, wallpapers, or features you want using the methods you’re currently using.

To get ringtones on the Fin, the community I’m with has developed more than 3 methods to get them there. I’m sure it’s just as possible with the Hint if you’re just willing to work on it in your spare time.

I just got the finesse 2 days ago. I can’t go on craigslist. I can’t watch any other videos than the ones I film with the built in camcorder. “Full HTML Web Browser” is a loosely used term with this phone. I used to have 2 t-mobile smartphones. The MDA and the HTC Dash and I could view videos and youtube, search craigslist, etc. What’s up with my metro pcs finesse. Overpromise and underdeliver? I’m considering taking mine back for a less expensive phone that is gps capable. Shame on you metro pcs.

I figured out that I must put the video files in the “video” folder. Now I’m able to watch videos that I convert and download to the memory card. I still can’t download any videos or video games yet. I have been able to get free ringtones at funformobile.com, but that’s about it. The t-mobile smartphones I’ve had in the past have been able to view youtube videos and more. The finesse is limited in its functionality. I hope its just a software issue that some computer wiz will help us with. And what’s up with not being able to get on craigslist???? WTF???

if you want ringtones. First you have to have a memory card. Then you can download a program called AVS audio converter. This program allows you to make your own custom ringtones.

Okay, NOTICE TO ALL HINT USERS WHO WANT RINGTONES.

The key is you have to download the ringtones to a computer and send them to the phone as a mms.
Or have a friend send them to you in mms messages.
It’s the ONLY way to get use of free ringtones if you don’t want to get or use a SD card.
Which for me is fine, but i know some ppl might complain because our society has become full of lazy a** rush rush people who expect their electronics to jump a thousand miles, when they ask it to…..like their godly creatures from heaven or something. o_O

But if you want free ringtones, you’ll do it.
It took me all of 8 minutes or so to get like 10 on my phone.

I download a ringtone clip from mobiles24, save em to my pc, then pop on my gmail account, and email them to myself!

A few things i’ve noticed about doing this though……you can’t send more then one in a message….
AND if the file is too big, like 270kb+, it wont work.
But in reality, almost all ringtones aren’t that big. =D

I’m so happy i found a way to do it though, i was about ready to punch someone.

but i got an awesome brand new san disk 8gig SD card on amazon for 10 bucks. WOOOOO amazon!!!!
so yea…i can do it on my SD card now too if i want!

Anyone who is using a Motorola Hint, go to http://www.zedge.net. You will have to have a SD card. Search for the ringtone you want and then download it to the computer, I saved mine into a folder I made called Hint Ringtones. Then stick your SD card into your computer, open up the SD card folder. Then you’ll want to open up the Hint Ringtones folder (or whatever folder you saved the downloaded content into). Cut/Copy the downloaded content and paste it into the SD card folder called My_Sounds. Put your SD card back into your phone and then go to Ringtones and Sounds. You’ll have to move the content to your phone before you can set it as a ringtone.

I bought the new motorola evoke and im having trouble with it.
i cant watch youtube videos because the videos wont play! they’ll load but wont play! And, i have no freaking clue on how to setup my email. And for some reason i cant receive attachments!

This is to answer neaks question….. i bought the blackberry and love it because it keeps me connected with the world at all times with facebook, yahoo messenger, my multiple email accounts etc but when it comes to downloading ringtones, it cannot be done with fun for mobile…doesnt work …..the only way i have my favorite ringtones on mine is through my friends phones that funformobile works with. they download them and then send me them through text messages and then i save the file to my blackberry. i bought the Evoke and it is the biggest disappointment I have ever had with cellphones and most other products as well. With no mms, sideloaded contact ringers, calendar backup, or speed dial, it lacks features of their prior money. It costs too much and if your service is with Cricket, adds $15.00 a month more to your bill. Not a good value at all. Most buyers feel the same way I do!

Okay, NOTICE TO ALL HINT USERS WHO WANT RINGTONES.

The key is you have to download the ringtones to a computer and send them to the phone as a mms.
Or have a friend send them to you in mms messages.
It’s the ONLY way to get use of free ringtones if you don’t want to get or use a SD card.
Which for me is fine, but i know some ppl might complain because our society has become full of lazy a** rush rush people who expect their electronics to jump a thousand miles, when they ask it to…..like their godly creatures from heaven or something. o_O

But if you want free ringtones, you’ll do it.
It took me all of 8 minutes or so to get like 10 on my phone.

I download a ringtone clip from mobiles24, save em to my pc, then pop on my gmail account, and email them to myself!

A few things i’ve noticed about doing this though……you can’t send more then one in a message….
AND if the file is too big, like 270kb+, it wont work.
But in reality, almost all ringtones aren’t that big. =D

I’m so happy i found a way to do it though, i was about ready to punch someone.

but i got an awesome brand new san disk 8gig SD card on amazon for 10 bucks. WOOOOO amazon!!!!
so yea…i can do it on my SD card now too if i want!

rick, there has been a little success in getting movies directly to the Finesse, there’s some discussion about it at my URL on the forums.

There’s an easier way to get ringtones than saving it to your computer Blah blah blah.

I went to http://www.funformobile.com on my computer and found a ringtone i liked and got the wapcode. Then I went to their wapsite on my phone, I then punched in the “wap code” for said ringtone and when it downloaded, hit the options key on my phone went to save items (#6) and there it was for downloading. not all of them worked but most did

I ran across a few that said “there were no items to save” but then I just sent it to my buddy and had em SMS or bluetooth it to me.

Still working on APPS for the phone… actually that’s why I’m here but no help.

I’ll figure it out eventually.

I want to make ringtones for my samsung exclaim using my sd card, I dont have internet on my phone

Just so you guys know…there’s a simple $10 program that’s called Ring Factory, which makes unlimited ringtones for your phone. I used it on my HTC and put it on my mini sd card…worked like a charm. I just uploaded my favorite song, clipped the song from wherever in the song I wanted (eg. I wanted a specific clip of Fergie’s Glamourous about 1 minute into the song) and voila, INSTANT RING TONES!!! Beats paying full price or monthly fees. I think I bought it from Target or Best Buy.

Oh yeah…I’ve used it creatively for Muvee autoProducer to put exactly what clips of music I wanted. I made a Christmas gift for my mom using this program as part of my project (Ring Factory).

You can also SMS as well as save to computer.

I can get on CRAIGSLIST….you have to google craigslist from your phone and then click the link. When u get there save it as a favorite, i found that out for a lot of the sites that you cant load.

I’VE BEEN WITH METRO PCS FOR ABOUT A YEAR. JUST PURCHASED SAMSUNG FINESSE. SHORTLY AFTER I DISCOVERED THAT NOT ONLY THAT I COULDN’T DOWNLOAD THIRD PARTY APPS, BUT OUT OF ALL THINGS, I CAN’T WATCH YOUTUBE ON THIS PHONE. THIS IS CRAZY! YOU CAN’T VIEW YOUTUBE ON THIS PHONE?? IT’S LIKE GETTING A PAPER CUT TO THE BACK OF A FINGER. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. METRO NEEDS COFFEE AND WAKE UP.

I agree with Ruben. MetroPCS and Samsung should have re-thought their decision before releasing the Finesse. As Ruben put it, it’s obvious that Samsung and MetroPCS should have allowed third-party apps into their phone. This is really messed up!

You would think after the iPhone was released cellular coverages (mainly Metro) would at least be smart enough to allow third-party. I have used the Finesse and it was a horrible experiance. What’s the point of buying a phone when you can’t run third-party??

Yes, I acknowledge the advantage of a touch screen mobile device, however the Finesse represents a failure device. You would think Samsung would have already thought of this before releasing that phone. I will recommend to you this, go for the Samsung Code! Same price, Windows Mobile, Third-party.

I have just purchased a Hauwei m750 phone and want to download mp3s to it. When I plug it into my usb port, it tells me that I need to install the driver disk. I never received a disk with this phone and don’t understand what to do. If anybody knows where to get the software or download needed for my pc/dumbphone, PLEASE HELP…

That’s the issue Ana; there is no way to download free games or applications into the Finesse. Samsung has decided to follow MetroPCS in proprietary software. That means that MetroPCS restricts Samsung Finesse users to download third-party software so that the Finesse user only downloads from the @metro store and limited to buy the applications and games offered in the store.

No third-party apps which means your limited.

Hey, I’ve had my motorola qa30 phone with MetroPcs service for about 9 months now and I love it! One problem I wanna know is I used to be able to set sounds as my alert tone, Now when I try to set sounds as alert ringtones it says its unable I just wonder what could be wrong now? Any help or suggestions would be great! thanks
