Skyfire Announces Public Beta and Forthcoming Symbian Client

In a press release (PDF) today, mobile browser developer Skyfire has announced the expansion of its beta program to public access with the release of browser version 0.8.

The new version features improvements regarding handling of AJAX, Flash, and other rich media, a new navigation bar dubbed “SuperBar” as well as the ability to download content directly from the browser.  The company also stated that it would be releasing the 0.8 version for Series 60 with no specific timeframe given.

I use the beta version of skyfire on my HTC Touch and it works almost as good as the iPhone Safari Browser. I cant wait till the updated browser.

I just started using the browser on my HTC 5800 and so far I love it! You can acomplish a lot more on this browser than the loathed Internet Explorer Mobile edition :( If you have a touchscreen device, i’ll bet this browser is bad azz!!! TRY IT!

Still no support for VGA screens. Looks like I’m still stuck with Opera Mobile.
