The first images of the forthcoming Sprint HTC Touch Pro2 have surfaced.

The device is expected to be launched in mid-June after the release of the Pre with dual-mode GSM/CDMA radio for international roaming, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, accelerometer 3.6 inch WVGA display with a tilt mechanism similar to the Kaiser, microSDHC expansion slot, TV output, and dual-microphone speakerphone.
The Sprint version will launch with Windows Mobile 6.1, but will receive the upgrade to 6.5 when available.

I hope the diamond 2 is coming also. Both phones look awesome. I might get the pro2 over the PRE. Especially with 6.5 coming.
Diamond2 has 5 megapixel camera. Why not do the same with the tp2? Thats dumb.
So will this phone work on AT&T? If it supports CDMA/EVDOand GSM, is it AT&T’s GSM? And would the AT&T 3G work on this phone?
If this could be activated on AT&T, and used with Sprint Prepay or Verizon month to month when needed, it would be the hands down best phone ever.
International GSM/HSPA only which is 900/1800/2100 according to the latest information I have from store techs that have the phone.
Dang that sucks. Oh well. Hopefully the AT&T version will be out soon. HAs anyone heard anything on when to expect an AT&T version?
Best Buy always sell unlocked phones or get the t mo one
Yeah I’m sure there will be unlocked ones for sale all over the place. I just don’t know if we’ll see unlocked ones at Best Buy in June (which is only a couple weeks away).
What is dual-microphone speakerphone ??
the touch pro2 has the smaller cam because first off a cmos cam will suck no matter how many megapixels it is.. secondly it goes the business route and adds a dual mic speaker phone to offer noise cancellation conference calls.. a 5 mp cam is just as useless for a business customer as a dual mic speaker phone is for a consumer.. plus the pro2 has a tilt screen and gsm roaming on the sprint version.. a crappy 5mp cam wouldnt have helped the business spec list.. i bet some 3mp cams out there will have better quality

USA SPRINT AND USA VERIZON = CDMA
AT&T AND T-MOBILE AND THE REST OF THE WORLD = GSM
Actually there are CDMA carriers in Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea and most of the world.
T Mo is the U.S. GSM getting it 1st and Sprint might be the 1st U.S. CDMA but Alltel has been throwing some HTC curves lately
Hey celz I understand that a business person might not need 5 megapixel camera but why wouldn’t a consumer use dual mic? I would love to have a noise cancellation speaker on my phone and so would dozens of my friends. Why not just put 5 mp and dual mic in both phones? Do you work for htc or something?
5 mp camera would have been nice, but a flash would have been nice too.

the flash on the pro makes a huge difference. i have used the camera on the diamond and i prefer the pro by a mile. i just wish i could make it through more than 6hrs before having to plug in and recharge. where is the rom update, sprint? i hear it makes a decent difference for the diamond. i would also love to see sprint offer an extended life battery or a desk charger with a 2nd battery slot. hell, i would even take an external charger.
hell naw i dont work for htc im just stating what is most likely the reason that the pro 2 doesnt upgrade the cam.. all major companies do this so dont give htc any flack.. but a cmos 5 mp cam with no flash.. right, thats a marketing ploy.. 5mp cams are cheaper now and mega pixels dont have anything to do with pictures, a mega pixel is the number of pixels that the end picture will have. So its like insurance that a smaller number of pixels will be lost… With hi end cams that are for photography alot of information is lost.. Now if the camera is crappy with low light it more than likely wont even take 5mp worth of information.. it will probably take really good well lit face shots and thats it.. i dont use speakerphone but i think thats a gd idea u might want the pro2 it should be the best on anyphone out.. or get a bluetooth one.. and europe will get it first as always and sprint would get it first in the us if tmob wasnt so far behind in ppcs.. but since sprint needs a world phone the sprint and tmo launch will be around the same time

This device seems more powerful and functional than the pre. I like landscape orientation for my keyboard since my hands are not “small”. Maybe its just me but all the marketing in the world wont convince me to get a pre. Just not sold on it but this touch pro 2 which has no advertisement is what im waiting on. I like the prospect of unlocked gsm for overseas travel. A true world phone. No Pre for me!

A serious contender if it has:
1.Matt and/or rubberized finish, I dislike the cheap scratch/smudge magnet look and feel.
2.Microsd
3.TV out
4.nice camera/unlimited video (Length limited by memory not software)
