Sprint Launches BlackBerry Curve 8350i

After a two-week delay, Sprint has officially launched the long-awaited RIM BlackBerry Curve 8350i for the Nextel service.

The device features a Wi-Fi radio, OS 4.6, internal antenna, 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder and flash, GPS transceiver with A-GPS support, Direct Connect with Group Connect, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, microSDHC expansion slot, speakerphone, and media player.

The device is now available from Sprint online for $249.99 after new 2 year agreement and $230 instant discount with an additional $100 mail-in rebate when purchased with a PRO Pack, Everything Plan, or Data Premier add-on,  bringing the total to $149.99.

It has the same software like the Blackberry Bold. Very nice addition to the Curve.

Yeah, I didn’t notice until AFTER I posted that you had that it included OS 4.6. Yeah, so anyway.. did I mention that the new Blackberry has OS 4.6 and it isn’t a 9xxx series device? That means that a software upgrade for the 8xxx devices could be coming!

I wouldn’t doubt it, especially if the reports I’m getting from the RIM campus in my neck of the woods is anything to go by.

Could one download the software off Blackberry.com and install it on a Sprint Curve without having to delete the vendor file? Has anyone tried? I also see it supports MMS. Can one get the service book that controls MMS and install it on the afore mentioned Sprint curve?
